Total Length of Yamuna Expressway or Taj Expressway as it is popularly known is a 6 lanes wide and 163.5 kilometers long access-control expressway, linking Pari Chowk at Greater Noida in New Delhi to Kuberpur in Agra in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. It is currently India’s third longest expressway since February this year. It has been designed and developed by a team of experts led by CRD World Wide Ltd. This project was launched in the year 2000.

The total length of Yamuna expressway was reduced as a result of several factors. First, there has been a massive growth in the travel sector, making air travel cheaper, simpler, and more convenient than it was a decade ago. People love to travel in comfortable and luxurious cars like Mercedes Benz and BMWs, even though they may be more expensive and consume more fuel. Secondly, the high speed of most highways makes travelling on them fast and efficient. Therefore, the developers of the Yamuna expressway built another expressway to connect Pari Chowk, Greater Noida, and Chandni Chowk, Greater Kailash, and Pratapgarh. This road was named ‘Total Length of Yamuna’ after the total length of the existing expressways. The new road extends to Jodhpur in Rajasthan.

Another reason for the growth of the Yamuna expressway was the launch of the Formula One racing events at the famous Grand Prix Circuit in Abu Dhabi. The new expressway connects Al Maktoum and Eid Bel University. It cuts across the two towns by about 200 kilometers. This route is ideal for commuters going to and from the main cities of Delhi and Mumbai. The distance and time required to travel from Delhi to Eid and from Mumbai to Al Maktoum is less by using the Yamuna expressway.
The Yamuna expressway was designed for the convenience of people living in the two towns. The two town’s population consists of both the locals and foreigners. The foreigners are mainly from Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, and Nepal. Most of them are working in multinational companies located in New Delhi and Mumbai. The majority of them are looking for affordable transport options to commute between the two destinations. The government of Rajasthan has also implemented a policy that provides concession on the common area maintenance charges to the commuters.
The new extension of the Yamuna is being constructed along the same track. This will allow more people from different parts of India to access the commuting options to the capital. This will increase the population of both the Al Maktoum and Eid Bel University. The total length of Yamuna expressway in Rajasthan is now expected to cross the three million mark.
