Stop being a slave to your subconscious mind

Never underestimate the powers of the subconscious mind.

Unfortunately, most people are completely unaware of how they can harness their power and instead fight for life despite the fact that the solution to most of their problems lies within their own minds.

The fact is that you can achieve anything you want (within reason) simply by changing your “mental programming”. By doing so, you will be able to access the hidden resources of your mind and suddenly the impossible is possible.

If you need any proof of this, consider advances in science, medicine, technology, etc. in the last 100 years.

Such achievements were only possible because certain individuals possessed the correct mindset that turned dreams into reality. A good example would be the first moon landing back in 1969.

Therefore, before purchasing another self-help product, you must first consider the need to reprogram your subconscious mind. To do this, you will need to learn specific techniques that we will discuss later.

It is important to explain the difference between the conscious and the subconscious mind. The conscious mind is what you can directly control and use, similar to using your hands, legs, etc.

However, your subconscious mind can only be controlled indirectly. This is similar to certain autonomic functions, such as your heartbeat. For example, you can make your heart rate go up or down by increasing or decreasing your physical activity even though you don’t have direct control over it.

Your conscious mind can distinguish between good and bad, right and wrong. It serves as our inner voice when we are faced with morally challenging situations.

However, the subconscious mind simply processes everything you consciously experience and translates that information into an image of yourself in all aspects of your personality. It then projects that image outward by influencing your thoughts, decisions, and behavior so that your reality is consistent with your internal image.

You can compare the subconscious mind to a computer program that projects images onto a screen based on the instructions it receives within its programming.

Regarding the subconscious mind, the obvious question is how it is programmed in the first place. Basically, it is the result of messages that are repeated over and over again. In other words, it is what we experience most frequently that has the greatest impact on how we perceive ourselves.

That is why it is so important that parents and educators repeat positive messages to their children and students. However, this is often not the case because negative and positive images are often passed down from one generation to the next.

For example, how often have you heard of children living in an abusive environment and later becoming abusive parents? However, despite any bad mental programming, it is possible at any time in life to take control over subconscious perceptions of who they are through the application of specific techniques.

Ultimately, you have the power to change your life by working with your subconscious mind instead of constantly fighting it. As the old saying goes, if you can’t beat them, join them!

To help you get started, here are three basic techniques to reprogram your subconscious mind:

1. Positive Affirmations – Although it may seem almost too simple, the fact is that the constant repetition of positive affirmations is a VERY effective technique. If you spend just 10 minutes a day repeating several positive statements over and over again, you’ll find that these statements tend to stick with you throughout the day. Try this right away…you’ll be amazed at the results!

2. Visualization – This is another powerful technique. Simply imagine in your mind’s eye the life you want and then imagine that it has already happened. How does that make you feel more confident and relaxed perhaps? Now hold on to these feelings and realize that everything you want in life is already becoming a reality because this is the image that you are sending to your subconscious mind. Spend just 5 minutes on this exercise every day, in addition to the one above… and get ready for some big changes to come!

3. Prayer/Meditation: The nature of this exercise varies depending on the nature of your belief system. The basic concept is that by connecting with the source of infinite knowledge we can communicate our deepest thoughts and desires and thus ask the universe to grant us everything we desire. Some might consider this to be a religious experience, while others might consider the exercise to be more spiritual in nature.

The only caveat to these techniques is that they must be repeated daily and you must absolutely believe in their effectiveness. Any amount of doubt will weaken your resolve and make it easier for your subconscious mind to follow its original (and potentially dysfunctional) agenda.

By learning to use the powers of the subconscious mind, instead of being its slave, you can finally live a life filled with unlimited abundance, peace, and prosperity.
