How to make coffee jelly

Looking for an after dinner dessert for when you have friends over? Do they love coffee?

Try the coffee jelly. It is fast and very simple to do. It only takes about fifteen minutes to put together and most of that time is waiting for it to thicken. It also doesn’t require heating the oven, so it’s perfect for summer, but you can enjoy it all year round.

What you will need:

Two 1/4 ounces of plain gelatin. It’s in the grocery store aisle with the jelly, probably in a plain box.

1/2 cup of cold coffee. I used a flavored coffee, but you can really use any coffee you like.

3 cups of hot coffee.

1/2 cup of sugar. More or less depending on how sweet you like it.

1 pinch of salt

How to do it:

In a large bowl or I used a small narrow roasting pan, mix together the gelatin and iced coffee.

Let stand for ten minutes to thicken.

Add hot coffee, sugar and salt. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.

You can pour it into individual serving dishes or store it in the roasting pan. Put in the fridge until it sets. I noticed that it took much longer than normal gelatin to set. In my fridge, it took about three hours, so if you can get your dinner ready before you start cooking and by the time you’re done eating dinner, it’s done!

And that is. When you serve it, you add whipped cream to it. I also recommend trying it with chocolate or caramel syrup. Also, you can try adding bananas, strawberries, raspberries, or anything else you like.
