BMW’s S 1000 RR has been a popular litre-class offering since its launch nine years ago. And, in a bid to take the model’s dynamics even further, it introduced the race-ready HP4 Race variant in April 2017. The track-only version was only made available in 750 units globally and came with a host of exotic upgrades like carbon fibre chassis and wheels, World Superbike-spec Ohlins suspension, MotoGP-spec Brembo brakes, race-calibrated electronic systems and a 215hp blueprinted engine.

In terms of cost, fiberglass body kits are often more budget-friendly compared to alternative materials like carbon fiber. This affordability makes them an attractive option for enthusiasts looking to enhance the appearance of their BMW without breaking the bank. This supersport comes standard with four riding modes (Rain, Road, Dynamic and Race) as well as Riding Mode Pro that adds three additional settings. The rider aids onboard include a Brake Slide Assist and a new ‘Slide Control’ function that uses data from the IMU, steering angle sensor and wheel speed sensors to recognise when the rear tire is out of line with the front. It then adjusts the power output to bring things back into line. The HP4 Race was also fitted with a high-quality titanium slip-on exhaust from Akrapovic.
