3 Quick Kid-Approved Chicken Recipes

Chicken nuggets, chicken drumsticks, chicken wings … Kids all over the world love chicken! But who can blame them? Meat is readily available, easily prepared, and can be cooked in many different ways. But if you want to prepare something new and a little more unique, try these quick chicken recipes that even you will love!

Maple Baked Chicken Breasts

What do you need:

  • 3/4 kg. boneless skinless chicken

  • 1/2 cup maple syrup

  • 1/2 cup Dijon mustard

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (less sodium)

  • 2 sprigs of fresh thyme

  • 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary

  • Salt to taste

  • Ground black pepper to taste

Spray 11×7-inch baking dish with cooking spray and place chicken inside. Sprinkle or rub salt and pepper over the chicken to taste. Combine the maple syrup, Dijon mustard, and soy sauce in a small bowl.

Pour the mixture over the chicken and stir to coat the meat well. Put sprigs of thyme and rosemary along with the chicken. Bake in a preheated oven (425F) for 30 to 40 minutes.

Remove herbs and discard. Pour the sauce over the chicken before serving!

The Best Cheesy Chicken Nuggets

What do you need:

  • 1/2 kg. frozen chicken nuggets (use dino chicken nuggets for more fun!)

  • 2 cups of grated mozzarella

  • 1 cup pizza sauce

  • Kosher salt

  • Freshly ground black pepper

  • Chopped fresh basil, for garnish

Place the frozen chicken nuggets in a baking dish. Spoon pizza sauce over nuggets and season with kosher salt and ground black pepper. Cover with mozzarella. Bake in a preheated oven (400F) for 25 to 30 minutes or until the nuggets are cooked through. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Easy Cheese and Chicken Sloppy Joes

What do you need:

  • 3/4 of ground chicken

  • 1 kg. minced garlic cloves

  • 1 large onion, diced

  • 2 cups of grated mozzarella

  • 1 cup tomato sauce

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar

  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard

  • 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon chili powder (optional)

  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire with sauce

  • Kosher salt and ground black pepper to taste

  • 4 buns, to serve

Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat and then cook the onion until tender. Add the garlic and cook for 1 more minute. Add ground chicken and cook 6 more minutes, or until no longer pink.

Add ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, chili powder (if using), and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet. Spice with salt and pepper. Stir the ingredients until well combined. Cook over low heat for 5 minutes or until mixture is thick and spicy.

Top with mozzarella and cover for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes. Serve in buns.
