Six factors that affect the immune system of our body

The rainy season is identical to the arrival of various diseases, particularly influenza. Some people seem more immune to the flu virus, while others frequently sneeze, cough, and have a runny nose.

1. Sugar consumption

Eating too much sugar didn’t just cause fat deposits. The study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition mentions that when you consume 100 grams of sugar (about 3 cans of soda) it reduces the ability of white blood cells to kill bacteria for the next 5 hours.

2. Drink less

Our bodies need water to eliminate toxins. More or less water should be drunk by each individual in a different way, depending on the activity and the environment. To know if we drink enough, consider the color of urine. If the color is light yellow, it means you have enough to drink.

3. Weight loss

Losing weight is too bad for your heart, brain, and immune system. Excess weight will cause an altered hormonal balance and will alter the ability of inflammatory immune cells to fight infection.

4. Often dry nose

The mucus/mucus in the nose serves to trap the virus and prevent it from entering the body. If your nasal passages are often dry, viruses and bacteria will be able to enter freely.

5. Often stressed

It’s no coincidence that you suddenly came down with the flu after meeting important work deadlines. According to a study published in the American Psychological Association, prolonged stress weakens the immune system’s response. Stress will also make flu symptoms worse.

6. Frequent colds

The average adult will get a cold one to three times a year. If you get the flu often, it means that your immune system is not working optimally. Good quality sleep, exercise, and eating nutritious foods to boost your body’s immunity.
